LETTER
I recently
in Native American Indian culture there is no word for disability. Everything
is seen as paid of the “whole”, all interconnected. The
strengths and weaknesses of each person connect to create “whole”.
On my last trip to Bali I met Very Cork, an Australian who helped establish
the Yayasan Senang Hati foundation. Through Vern, I met a great group
of people with different abilities. Senang Hati is a place that helps
to build and develop those abilities.
While visiting the foundation I bought some handmade jewelry at their
shop. The quality was excellent. This inspired me to buy gemstones and
create bracelets for the people at Senang Hati to make.
I hope to promote their good work in Australia. I hope also others will
see their abilities and help create opportunities for gaining in came
independence through their skills.
